Manually setup Single User Enviromental Variables

Help Home | System Home | Core | Errors |

All systems (Single and Multi-User) now require enviromental variables. If you are having problems changing program page properties and then when you run the program it ignores the properties and uses defualt values instead (i.e. Font Size of 10) than this is most likely your problem. To fix it, follow the steps below. (These steps were written for Windows XP)

  1. Right Click on My Computer.
  2. Click Properties.
  3. Click on the Tab labeled Advanced.
  4. Click on the Enviromental Variables button.
  5. Check to make sure there are no previously set Variables in either the User variables or the System variables.
If there are click on them and click Delete.
  6. In the Top frame labeled User variables click the New button.
  7. Set the Variable name to ScreenAce
and set the Variable value to C:\Program Files\ACS\Ace\Exe
  8. Then click OK.
  9. In the Top frame labeled User variables click the New button.
  10. Set the Variable name to ScreenAceShared
and set the Variable value to C:\Program Files\ACS\Ace\Share
  11. Then click OK.
  12. In the Top frame labeled User variables click the New button.
  13. Set the Variable name to ScreenAceTemp
and set the Variable value to C:\Program Files\ACS\Ace\Temp
  14. Then click OK.
  15. Click OK again.
  16. Click OK once more

If you currently are running ACS you must exit and restart it, before your changes will take effect. You may have to reboot your computer.
