Some things in ACS 4 are vastwly
different from ACS 3. We've changed our interface to a GUI interface, rather than
the DOS-feel it had before. In doing so several things had to be changed. Below
is a list of the major differences, you will want to know about. - Navigation
Windows has a standard navagation system in almost all programs. We've conformed
to ease the training required for new users. - Tab vs. Enter or Arrow Keys
To move between fields you will now have to use Tab to move forward or Shift+Tab
to move backwards. - F1 vs. Enter
To tell the system you are done with
a screen and continue, use Enter. Our ACS 3 system, did this with F1, which is
now used to access Help from any GUI screen. - F5 vs. Esc
To Cancel
or move backwards from a screen, use the Escape key instead of F5. - Getting
Help
- Manuals vs. Help
We've integrated all of our old manuals into
help files. The help files are in HTML format, so they will be displayed with
your default browser. To find specific help (like How To do something, rather
than what does this program do) go to the Core or System Help from at the top
of the System Menu. - Updates and Applying Changes
- Diskette
vs. File
We used to always put changes onto a diskette which was required
to be in the A drive. You can now download changes to any drive and install them
from there. Changes are in Rar format, but are encrypted to avoid any of the files
included from picking up virsuses and to protect your privacy.
