Many states are now requiring that your state unemployment be submitted electronically. Most states use the same file structure to submit the unemployment as the social security administration uses to submit the W-2s. This program uses that format for submitting state unemployment If your state uses a different format, this program will not work for you without some modifications.

The same basic information is needed by the state as needed by the social security administration. Some of the above questions may not be applicable. You can get a booklet from your state unemployment office that will explain the information they need and how to answer the questions they require. Just skip any questions that do not seem to pertain to you. Most states have a program that will examine your file before you submit it. We suggest you try to obtain such a program from your state. If there are any problems in your submission files, they can be corrected before you even submit the files.
