Replace a wrong transaction date throughout the current-period General Ledger transaction file and print the affected entries. This is a correction utility, not a date filter for a report.
Using this option
- Back up the company and identify the exact wrong date and replacement date before proceeding.
- Enter Bad Date and Good Date. All current-period transactions bearing Bad Date will be changed, regardless of account or transaction type.
- Continue only after checking both dates. Use Cancel to leave without making the correction.
- Review the printed transactions and rerun the appropriate Transactions Journal.
Notes
The utility changes transaction dates immediately. It does not limit the correction to one account, and it does not process accumulated history.
If only some entries on the wrong date should change, this bulk correction is not the appropriate selection. Correct those entries individually or ask ACS for assistance.
